Georgetown Railroad #1009 rots away in UPs Eureka Yard, left behind from the days when rock trains from the quarry outside Georgetown, TX, dumped their loads here. Surrounded by ever-encroaching development, I fear Eurekas days are numbered.

Description:
Trio of UP power pulls a manifest off the Palestine Sub and onto the Sunset Freight Main. At this point, the train is about to cross Maury St (just out of the picture to the right). Tower 26 is just behind the lead unit and 20 years ago, they would be entering the Hardy St Yard.

Description:
Had the opportunity to ride up front on SHOHO-17 (Officer Special). In this shot, were westbound on the Sunset line, weve just come through Memorial Park, crossed Buffalo Bayou and are approaching the San Felipe Rd crossing. Wed go out to Sugar Land before UP 1989 would take us back.
